IN THE EVENING

[For all that Gansey is oblivious, Adam's been worrying him recently between his breakdown and finding him after he had taken his pills with alcohol. It hasn't escaped his notice that Adam has been spending more and more time at the shop where he works. He's pushed Adam before to talk about what's bothering him and he'll do it again sometime soon. For now though, he wants to make sure the bare necessities are taken care of.

So he's got a small bag with a couple of cold slices of pizza wrapped in tin foil and a water bottle and walks into the garage, finding Adam after not having seen him all day.]

I brought you something to eat.

[unaffluent]

[ Adam's actually not planning to come home that night. There's a small backroom that has a cot, Adam had never asked why but he knew that no one uses it. He hadn't thought through needing something to eat. It's already a bit late into the evening and he's still working though when Gansey comes in. He glances upin his direction when he hears him. ]

Thanks. [ And he adds even though it's actuall a relief and he'd needed food. ] You didn't have to do that.

[disentombs]

I know.

[He looks around. The place is utterly abandoned except for him and Adam. He sets the bag next to Adam on the ground.]

How much longer are you going to be here?

[unaffluent]

[ Adam shrugs a shoulder as he continues working on what he's doing.

If he tells Gansey he's not planning on going home he knows that Gansey won't really take that. ]

A while. Still got stuff to do.

[disentombs]

[There's a slight frown at this.]

Can't it wait until tomorrow? It's already late.

[unaffluent]

[ Adam shakes his head and he's still not looked at Gansey again once he returns to what he's working on after the initial glance. ]

I'm not ready to go home.

[disentombs]

That's an odd way of putting it.

[unaffluent]

[ Adam shrugs. He's trying not to overly lie is why he puts it that way. ]

[disentombs]

Adam?

[The shrug isn't gonna cut it with him.]

[unaffluent]

[ Adam sighs, finally looking up and pulling his hands away from his work to look at Gansey again. ]

I'm spending the night here.

[disentombs]

[He blinks a few times, looking around.]

Here?

[unaffluent]

I have a lot of work to do.

[ Nothing pressing, but that's neither here nor there. ]

[disentombs]

There's no way it's enough work to justify staying here overnight.

[unaffluent]

[ Adam sighs heavily, turning his gaze to Gansey. He's tired feeling like his insides and brain had been put through a literal ringer. ]

I don't feel like going home right now.
