[ it's been A Day, and at least the medical tent isn't that big, or it might have been a task to be walking back and forth from ronan's room to where adam's laid out, taking in fluids and letting the paralytic wear off, with some help. ronan's in some kind of stable now, but still out, so andyr leaves him to the doctors to go check on adam again - something he'd been doing intermittently, wanting an eye on both of the boys.

they'd finally left this one alone for a time, so andyr moves to sit in a chair next to his bed, hand reaching out to touch a forearm gently. ]

Hey. How's the drug doing? Can you move okay yet?

[ The paralytic had worn off but Adam still felt like it had a hold on him. It's not only that but the idea that there might also be something else wrong that he won't know what it is until later. They'd been told about the metal pill he'd swallowed but hadn't figured out exactly what it was doing and it didn't seem to be causing any issues.

Adam doesn't think it's harmless but there's not much proof behind it. The last thing he expects is for Andyr to come and sit next to the bed he's on. He tries not to flinch away from the touch because Andyr doesn't mean anything negative by it and Adam knows that. But it's still difficult to let anyone touch him too many memorizes dragged to the surface in this whole ordeal. ]

Yeah. [ Not that he's moved much except that for most of the time he's curled in on himself, worrying and wanting to go to Ronan but not allowed to. ]

Ronan...?

Is fine. [ Andyr answers without delay, knowing how that must be the most important point to adam. ]

Still passed out, but they patched him up and pumped enough new blood in him that he's stable. Just healing now. [ and doped up on a fun cocktail of drugs, probably. the important part is he's safe, not in any kind of medical danger anymore. andyr will probably try to help adam move over to ronan's bed, so they'll have each other close when he wakes, as soon as the medics tell him adam's safe to move. or maybe before that. who knows.

but at the moment, there's a more pressing concern to address, before ronan wakes up and plows over everything adam might be feeling with his emotional whirlwind. ]

[ Adam was reluctant to get out of the bath and honestly he's sorely tempted to get back into it before they leave the room but the buffer of plush towels wrapped around their bodies is going to make actually talking easier as he lays on the side of the bath still on the bright and clean tile, his eyes on Ronan. It feels like a betrayal to himself in a way, to everything that'd just happened to bring up what he's about to but the events in the tent he'd overheard and seen were constantly haunting him.

Ronan always, clearly, would do anything sacrifice anything of his own wants and desires to provide for adam, shouldn't he do the same? Even so, he knows he has to tread carefully here. ]

Do you have feelings for Andyr?

[Ronan doesn't understand the question. More accurately, he doesn't understand why this question is being asked of him now, after they've just been intimate, and it feels like Adam's actually trying to ask something else.

He doesn't answer immediately, fixing a stare on Adam and holding it while he tries to sort out his thoughts on the matter. Even if Ronan was the type to lie, it seems like there's no good answer to this question. What Adam's saying is that he still feels insecure about them.

This is entirely Ronan's fault.]

[ Adam should have expected that. It's not a lie but it's not an answer -- which in and of itself is an answer. Not that he doesn't already know. He'd seen it, heard it in their voices. He swallows a sigh as he pushing himself up a little to look at him. ]

I know you love me. That's not what I asked.

[ Adam shrugs. Of course, there's more animals. Ronan loves making living happy things after all. Adam's not sure he's even aware of all the dream animals that might be roaming the property. He reaches down to pet Skippy a few times before nodding in the direction where most of the livestock is kept. ]

Do you have everything you need here? [ Maybe it's too soon to ask. He knows Blue probably would hate to just take free things but Ronan could make sure she's provided for but Adam's not sure she'd even ask if she needed anything. ]

[ Blue follows in step with Adam, her head on a bit of a swivel as she takes in all of the surroundings -- and rather than it feeling like there's little pieces of Ronan in everything, it feels more like there's a little bit of all of them. Though, she's fairly certain that was the entire point, something that didn't just have the look of home, but felt like home, too. It'll help combat the homesickness.

At least, that's what she hopes. She's been pretty well distracted from it so far, but the coming days would prove to be the real test. ]

So far. [ It's true. Even if she did need anything else, she's a little too stubborn to outright ask for it. Not without exhausting every attempt to get whatever it is herself first. ] Even so, I'll make do. [ She shrugs, offhanded and nonchalant. ]

It's nice here. [ She comments after a few minutes of comfortable silence settles between them. Nothing more than a simple observation said in a contented tone. ]

[ Jesse stands outside Ronan and Adam's room, just out of sight from the open door. He's been standing there for at least a minute, ruminating, running things over in his mind. He's as pathetic looking as he'd been the other night: dark circles still hanging under his eyes, sickly pale, unhealthy, looking like a decent sleep might actually kill him.

He's showered, at least, though. Dressed in clean clothes - baggy jeans and a red t-shirt, bare feet. Closing his eyes, he draws in a deep, steeling breath, exhales, and then slowly steps up to the doorway.

There's absolutely nothing confrontational or vicious about Jesse like there'd been the other night. All of that is gone, sullen, pensive contrition written all over his expression instead, body language meek. He lifts a hand and tentatively raps a knuckle against the door frame to get Adam's attention, tap, tap, tap. ]

[ Adam's settled with his lamb Skippy, trying to make sense of a book he took from the library Ronan made. It's about Tarot but it's not the least bit helpful so it's not hard to draw his attention when the other knocks on the door frame. His expression darkens a little, brows furrowing because honestly...

What now? He's done pretty good at avoiding even seeing Jesse since the other night, he hadn't said anything to Ronan, though he'd been a little bit tempted to. ]

Can I help you? [ He's borrowing Gansey's knack for managing to be polite under any and all circumstances. ]

[ Adam feels a smile tugging at his lips and he lifts his hand to hit against Gansey's lightly for a fistbump. He still doesn't feel quite real even when their skin connects. Something's not quite right but as with all those little feelings that he's started to get since his sacrifice to Cabeswater he doesn't really know what it means or what to do with it. ]

Did you get settled in...? [ Because Ronan can be a bit of a bonehead and forget obvious things sometimes. ]

[Every time they did this, Gansey couldn't help but feel a small thrill of victory. Quiet Adam Parrish coming out of his shell ever so briefly.

His mind briefly flashes to this afternoon with Ronan. Would there ever be a "right time" to tell Adam what happened to him?

For now, he follows Adam's lead of the conversation ]

Pretty much. I've been looking around the place most of the day. How long did it take him to get it this big? [A general wave indicating all of St. Monmouth.]

[ Outside Ronan and Adam's bedroom, by the door, is a large package wrapped in brown paper. The only thing written on it in sloppy handwriting is:

"Adam,
Thought these might interest you."

No name attached to it or any indication who they're from.

If Adam finds the package and decides to open it, he will find an assortment of books (and those listed are only just a few of them; there are at least twenty books in total). These are probably all books Ronan has already dreamed up for Adam, but oh well.

There's no rhyme or reason to the books; it's like whoever purchased them had no actual clue what they were buying, so gave up and just bought every tarot book they could find in whatever bookstores they could find around the metropolis in Region 1. That's because Jesse doesn't know the first fucking thing about tarot. But he's seen Adam with those tarot cards of his quite a lot around Monmouth, so tarot obviously means something to him.

Jesse knows buying Adam a bunch of books doesn't in any way equate to a right to forgiveness, or for Adam to have any obligation to speak to him. Jesse isn't seeking that, anyway. What he's seeking is this contrition thing Ronan has told him about; Jesse has decided to give it a go. It's the least he can do, he supposes. These books hardly amount to contrition, but he has to start somewhere, right? ]

[Gansey's been looking all over the place for Adam--he thinks he may have a lead on how to exorcise the demon from Ronan. He's fairly certain Adam isn't at work... it's late enough anyway that he shouldn't be there.

Not in the kitchen, nor the library, nor the sitting areas...

The last place he has left to look is Adam's room of course.

He finds it with the door closed and knocks--three sharp raps.

He waits a few seconds and doesn't hear anything--no hint of anyone moving beyond the door. Again, he knocks. Gansey gives Adam at bit more time this time. When nothing happens in a couple of minutes, Gansey places a hand on the doorknob and opens the door into Adam's room.]

[ Adam's on his bed, he'd taken a couple pills he'd gotten from Kavinsky. They were supposed to do something like numb him, help him sleep...keep the nightmares at bay. He'd had some whiskey with them, maybe after the first pill. If someone asks him later he won't rightly remember. As it was, he's laying on his side, the bottle tipped over and before he'd fallen asleep he'd definitely had more than a few sips.

He doesn't wake when Gansey comes on. True to the advertising, the pills had helped him sleep, kept away the nightmares and kept the emotions from choking him. For once, Kavinsky had actually helped. ]

It feels like being alive without a heartbeat and less to lose.

IN THE EVENING

[For all that Gansey is oblivious, Adam's been worrying him recently between his breakdown and finding him after he had taken his pills with alcohol. It hasn't escaped his notice that Adam has been spending more and more time at the shop where he works. He's pushed Adam before to talk about what's bothering him and he'll do it again sometime soon. For now though, he wants to make sure the bare necessities are taken care of.

So he's got a small bag with a couple of cold slices of pizza wrapped in tin foil and a water bottle and walks into the garage, finding Adam after not having seen him all day.]

I brought you something to eat.

[ Adam's actually not planning to come home that night. There's a small backroom that has a cot, Adam had never asked why but he knew that no one uses it. He hadn't thought through needing something to eat. It's already a bit late into the evening and he's still working though when Gansey comes in. He glances upin his direction when he hears him. ]

Thanks. [ And he adds even though it's actuall a relief and he'd needed food. ] You didn't have to do that.
